Kat and Alan's theme for this week came from an old magazine.

So here is a Campbell's soup ad from page 79 of the January 1919 issue.

As you can see, Campbell's tomato soup kept the troops healthy..

Actually it looks much more modern than it is. There is something about the layout and style which is years ahead of its time. Thanks for sharing it with us.

It must say something that they're still making the same soup today, though nobody would now order it by the dozen or by the case.

This makes me think of the classic combination of Campbell's tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. Yum!

Isn't it interesting how the Campbell's soup can image has become synonymous with Andy Warhol, and yet it was widely familiar to most long before the pop artist got hold of it - that's the point, I suppose.

Imagine that, it's still really the number one soup too! The can is almost the same...although they add pictures on many now....and have so many other choices in the line...thanks I really enjoyed this...especially reading the old time advertisements!
