This was the M R Craig Meat Market, before the devastating fire of 16 Jan 1906, that destroyed many businesses in downtown Russellville, AR.

I wonder if the men with their hats are customers selecting their meats or inspectors. The butchers appear to be at attention.

It's a long while since I saw scales like that. It's an impressive meat counter as well.

Sawdust used to cover the floor of butcher shops. Renewed every day, they swept it up for this photo I think,
