Dee, I have a suggestion for you IF you're hoping for other family members (descendants of your ancestors) to find you. (I don't know if you are or not.) If you transcribe the obituaries and other newspapers clippings and post them on your blog along with scans of the originals, the search engines will pick up the transcriptions. (Again, maybe that's not helpful or of interest to you....)

That is a very good idea, wish I had thought of it myself. I will do that next time too.

You know that last line in the obit really kills me. Why did they have to put it in that she was blind and hadn't been out of the house for two years? Is this there way of telling everyone the reason she died? Just curious. B

A lot of the older obituaries were very chatty about stuff we wouldn't dream of saying in an obit today.

There's Mary's second husband, David Andrew Williams' (http://dee-burris.livejournal.com/20637.html) obit, which is really graphic. And the same for one of my Chapin relatives, Ward Chapin. (http://dee-burris.livejournal.com/25640.html) That one is very, um, descriptive.
