Those Places Thursday: Commerce Street, Downtown Russellville

 photo Commerce Street Russellville.jpg

That one was stuck in the Williams family photo album.

I'm guessing around World War I? I can't count the stars on the flag...

Some of the men are in shirt sleeves, and the trees at the far end of Main Street appear to be fully leafed out. So I'm saying early summer...

ETA: Thanks to Ryan - who has a very good eye for detail, I know now that this was Main Commerce Street, Russellville, AR.

And it could be before 1914...

My guess is 4th of July parade... The cars look to me like late 19-teens to 1920s, but that's kind of a vague and wobbly estimate.

Great picture. I bet somebody in the Historical Society knows what this was about.

Those cars ... That can't be much after 1920. WWI is a good guess.

I believe this is a picture of downtown Russellville, Arkansas. Leonard's Hardware is a local company that was orginally located downtown.
