If Mattie was going to live with Minnie, and as close as Minnie and my great granddad were, then surely the sibs were not on the outs with each other.
So what does "the existing circumstances" mean?
I just keep thinking about this in the context of my own sisters. If I had one who lived several states away, and got news she had died alone and hadn't been discovered for two days, I'd be there in a shot.
