Okay, this chaps me...
Oct. 22nd, 2012 08:37 pmAn Ancestry tree owner has copied and pasted wholesale from one of my blog entries as a "story" on his/her tree.
I've posted a comment on the "story" and notified legal at Ancestry...

Date: 2012-11-11 01:12 pm (UTC)When I contacted a person about listing me in their public tree since I am still living, the response was "You know this is all public information anyway, but I will remove it if you want me to." Bad attitude, but requested result.

Date: 2012-11-11 03:12 pm (UTC)Yes, I did contact the owner of the tree. She was, um, scared.
She has now deleted all content under her "titles" of her stories, and replaced it with a link to my blog entry.
Then, I found the second one. Same tree. Sent her a PM saying I was going through her tree, looking for my stuff - had found this other "story" and she needed to do the same thing with it. And that she probably needed to beat me through the hunt, before I had my attorney contact her.
I was glad to see there were no "shares" on the "stories." Her excuse was that she found the entries through Google searches, and had not landed on the homepage, so did not see my statement that my written content was protected by copyright.
Which also means she did not check me out, or verify my information before running off to post her new-found - and stolen - stories.
