Another little ditty from the Williams' family photo album.

This time, I know who one of the subjects was...

My great grandfather, Jo Desha Williams, and someone who had to be one of his grandkids...

Ya think the sun was in their eyes?

This is a Sepia Saturday post.

What a wonderful picture. It looks as if that baby just learned to stand up by him/herself.

He looks like Teddy Roosevelt!

Also, what an adorable wee bairn. Probably just a year old, so if you have a date on the photo you might be able to figure out who the wee one is.

Now I have to wonder if that's why there's a postcard of Teddy in the photo album...

A lot of men from that time period admired Teddy and modeled themselves on him. Your great-granddad may have been one of them.

You're right, he does. And that baby is an amazing cutie-pie!

I like how he is so gently and protectively preventing the baby from falling. Sun, or he could just have deep-set eyes. It's a great photo.

The steadying hand is needed. I hope the photographer didn't take too long.

Both grandpa and grandchild seem very patient and very comfortable with each other. Excellent photo!

Judging by the lighting, and the real-looking backdrop, I'd have to agree this was taken outdoors. If you could extract the photograph from the album, a little more might be revealed.

From Alan Burnett
A great photograph, although I have to wonder whether the small child is being held erect by a hidden iron frame - and the older man is using it to steady himself.
