These homebuyer shows just slay me sometime.

I'm looking for an old historic home - something built around the turn of the 20th century, with all that quirky character...

WHAT? What's up with these small bedrooms? The master bedroom closet in my apartment is bigger than that! And no walk-in closet? I can't do without a walk-in closet...my shoes wouldn't even fit in there.

The master bathroom isn't even attached to the master bedroom...and no shower in there, just a tub. It is a lovely old claw foot tub, but I was looking for a shower with steam jets...

Then they go looking for an attached garage, and just carry on something fierce.

I think they pick these shows to broadcast as some sort of revenge of Martha Stewart sort of thing...

And oh my god!!!....There's no pool? We just HAVE to have a pool! And that wallpaper has to go and what do you mean there's no "media room"???

I used to love HGTV and now I very rarely watch it. Nothing is about the average homeowner living in an average home with an average income and actually helping someone who could really use the help because they are beyond affording it themselves. It's all this crazy extravangance.

Yeah, I had to turn it off tonight.

I knew there was a reason I prefer reading...

"I really don't like these paint colors."

Those shows are funny. I don't think many people know what they want, although they are certainly sure they don't want wallpaper. - Katherine @ Atlantic Roots

I saw one recently where the buyers walked into a house with white walls and said "all this white - its not my style." Hey, have you ever considered picking up a paint brush? That is probably why the sellers left the walls white, so the buyers could make it their own. But the comments about the size of rooms and closets (especially the closets) in the older homes with character that they always want just kills me. I stopped watching it too. Too much whining.
