Sepia Saturday: Paul and Audria Pettit

This is a photo of my step-grandparents, Paul Pettit, and Audria Maxine Brannon, probably around the time of their marriage in 1937.

I saw it when I was up visiting the folks last weekend, and they let me scan a copy with my little Flip-Pal.



Paul died in 1964, and Audria, in 2007. Both are buried in St. Joe Cemetery, just down the road from the Burris homeplace, in Pope County, AR.

This is a Sepia Saturday post.

He looks so tall next to her, and the photographers shadow is in the picture too. It must have been a sunny day but they are warmly dressed with their coats and hats.

Imagine their time dancing with the height difference...he sure appears quite tall! Cool photo!

Actually, she was very short. Paul was only about 5'10" - so I hear - and Audrey was probably not quite 5 feet.

Lovely photograph. They are clearly very close. But look at his hat! Magnificent!
