The photo had to be taken in the late 1920s, but before 1929, when my grandmother, Louise Herrington, married George W Burris, Jr.

We do not have a clue as to the identity of her beau.

Sepia Saturday is a blogging medium and theme suggested by Alan Burnett and Kat Mortensen.

I think this is one of the prettiest photos of grandmother I have seen. Not a bad looking beau either - but he couldn't hold a candle to GDad Wash. I'd love to know who he was, though I know that would take a miracle.

I like this one, but am more partial to the one that is dad's favorite. (http://dee-burris.livejournal.com/22593.html)

Yes, that one is lovely too. She was just a downright pretty lady. Inez is rolling in her grave ---

From Alan Burnett : Great photograph, there is something very engaging about the couple. The faces seem to radiate a kind of quirt pleasure in each others' company.

Louise is lovely but I can't quite read her expression. The gentleman seems to have a humorous expression. I wonder if Louise's husband took the photo? It doesn't really look like there's anything between them - no hand-holding, no leaning toward each other, etc. It would be fun to know the circumstances surrounding this photo and the day it was taken.

I'm so glad you decided to join Sepia Saturday. I'm so very, very late looking at last Saturday's photos.... I'll have to come back another time and comment on some of the other posts from this week. I scrolled through but didn't read.
