Hi Cindy,

I found this thread after reading The Orphan Train: A Novel for my book club. I found out that my father in law's father (Alex Hain) was on the Orphan Train. It appears he was your Aunt Margaret's sister! My father-in-law is Harlon Hain. He told me that Alex and 3 of his siblings were on the orphan train. Alex was chosen in Missouri to work on a farm, another brother got off somewhere else (sorry, can't remember), and the two sisters were sent on to Arkansas. The 4 of them did keep in touch and Harlon and his wife, Ginger, even visited the sisters at some point. Would love to talk with you more about this.
