We can be such wide-eyed innocents. Hate's probably been part of society since man first walked out of the caves. Too many times we look away.

And yet, I also live with people who can never forget a slight or offense - can never get past the past. I think we need to know the past, see it, then let go and look ahead.

We just can't look away from the present, pretending all is well.
