I am so jealous.

Margel gets to be part of a family legend in the making.

She received THE PAN back from her brother this year.

It will hold a place of honor on her desk.

But I bet she doesn't soak her feet in it. Not now...

The Pan in my household is the black cast iron skillet from my grandmother's time. My mother, born in 1923, remembered it from "always" and I remember it from "always" (as will my son) I'm guess-timating it is around 100 years old at this point. I had to re-season it in 1988 (long story involving a helpful ex-husband).

I love pan stories.

It's pretty spectacular, isn't it? Makes me wish I had a brother - though I suspect hers is one in a million.
