My mother stopped in the early seventies. She had the most beautiful voile aprons with ruffles that she wore for her bridge club. I had aprons from my grandmother from the time I was five or so. Younger folks seem amazed that I can tie a lovely even bow behind my back. I learned on an apron (of course all those back-tie caftan tops we wore in the early 70's helped keep it going as well).

I miss rickrack also. It was a right bitch to iron if I recall correctly. Personally, I just miss "notions" in general. Pickin's are slim at the fabric store.
